An Injection Pier is a structural underpinning system with 1 inch holes drilled into the Underpinning segment at 1 – 1 and ½ foot intervals normally from the first 5 feet up to 20 feet from the surface. The idea is that once the pile is driven grout is injected through the pile to densify the soil around it. Injection Piers are considered one of the best remediation technologies for shallow sinkhole anomalies when both Structural Underpinning and consolidation of shallow soils is needed.
